HELICOPTER TOUR
Tour Date: Friday, May 7
Group Size: 32
Our tour was awesome! Our group was comprised of kids ages 7 and 8 years old.
As an attention-getter, the kids were given an assignment to find the 7 major parts of a helicopter. They were assigned to use personal resources or go online. To conclude the assignment, the kids were to predict which part of the helicopter was most important in relation to flying. On the day of the tour, the kids were asked to think about what caused the helicopter to remain in the air as they experienced the tour.
We were required to experience the tour in groups of three. I especially enjoyed communicating with Ms. Angie by promptly having the next group ready for the tour as she landed back at the hangar. She used simple hand gestures to communicate from the helicopter and was very patient, allowing for pictures and snap shots.
The kids were all anxious to fly high in the air. For most, this was a first time experience. As each group departed and returned to the hangar, the kids waved and jumped with excitement. As for the parents and chaperones, many were just as excited as the kids. Many of the kids reported seeing schools of dolphins and more and were very excited
to share. This was the special component of the tour. Ms. Angie ensured that each of the kids enjoyed the tour, making this a one of a kind experience for each child. The tour proved to be a great experience.
I am very thankful that Ms. Angie consented for our group to experience the tour. She promptly responded to the many email messages. From that point, I was confident that this activity would be a good experience for the kids. We all enjoyed the tour. Everything was done in very timely manner with many positive comments. Thanks to Ms. Angie, the kids will have great memories and a learning experience to cherish.
